Equibility

First, Equibility is about horses. The Equibility team of horses includes my first horse Jazzy as well as several rescue horses that each have specific skills and jobs in our program. Each horse has a story and each horse has a contribution to make to the larger group and to society. Each horse also enjoys life as a horse and often as a spoiled horse! Our horses enjoy time off, a variety of activities when they are working, and holistic care that includes herbal teas, aroma therapy, massage, warm mashes and special treats.

Second, Equibility is about ability. Giving a diverse group of people the opportunity to be with horses to the highest level of their ability. Many of our riders have challenges that keep them from riding at regular riding programs. Our riders abilities however are often too high for many therapeutic riding programs. So Equibility works to fill in that gap. We provide support where needed but allow our riders to express their capabilities to the fullest means possible. The safety of our students and horses is always our number one priority!

Third, Equibility is about education. Equibility has developed a program to teach to the Indiana Educational Standards in most core subjects in grades K-6 using horse themed or horse assisted lessons. We are also able to teach life skills and social skills with our horses or work with a students therapist (physical, occupational, emotional) to design a custom program. Our miniature horses take our program on the road to schools and other settings where kids and adults alike find fun in equine assisted learning.
